Board Template

Apart from creating the Board from scratch which, at times, can be time-consuming and overwhelming, Plaky gives you the opportunity to use Board Templates and make the process faster and more suitable to your needs.

In the Template Center, Plaky offers a wide variety of Templates you can choose from and start planning and organizing your projects more quickly while communicating with your Team Members more efficiently.

Use a wide variety of Templates and achieve your professional and personal goals.

Some of the areas covered by Templates are:

  • Marketing
  • Sales
  • HR
  • Software development
  • Personal tasks and personal goals

… and so on.

For more information on Templates, please check out our Templates Center.

Add Board Template

Whether you’re adding the first Board in the Workspace, or one more to the collection of Templates you already have, you always have the option of creating it from Template or scratch.

To add new Board from Template:

  1. Navigate to the Workspace you’d like to add Template to
  2. Click + Add located below the Workspace name
  3. Choose New Board and Create from template from the dropdown menu

Template Center opens with all the Templates available for you in Plaky. You can browse through the Center in the search field, or by the Template category in the sidebar on the left.

After you’ve chosen the Template, you can hover over it and click Preview if you’d like to see how it looks like, or click Use to use this Template right away. In the preview mode you have the option to click Use Template to use it in the existing Workspace, or choose the Workspace from the dropdown.

The Template preview provides the description and the type of project it is made to cover.

The Board will be automatically created from the chosen Template.

Now, you’ve successfully created new Board from Template which can be modified according to your needs.

Set Board as Template

If you’ve created the Board that fits your needs from the Template and you’d like to reuse it multiple times, you can set that Board as Template and use it as all other Templates available in the Template Center.

To set an already created Board as Template:

  1. Navigate to the Board you’d like to set as Template
  2. In the Board navigate to the three dot menu at the top right corner
  3. Choose Mark as Template from the dropdown

The Board will be set as Template and will be marked as such in the sidebar. Additionally to that, it will become available in the Template Center in All templates and Templates created in your account category.

Public Board set as Template can be removed by:

  • Template Owner
  • Workspace Member (if Board permissions are set to Edit everything)

Private Board set as Template can be removed by:

  • Template Owner
  • Workspace Member (if they’re Member of that Board and if Board permissions are set to Edit everything)

To remove Board as Template:

  1. Navigate to the Board you’d like to remove as Template
  2. In the Board navigate to the three dot menu at the top right corner
  3. Choose Remove as Template from the dropdown

The Board will no longer be set as Template and won’t be marked as such in the sidebar. Additionally to that, it will be removed from the Template Center.

All the Boards created prior to this step along with any modifications made to them will be preserved.

Any type of Board can be saved as Template, whether it’s Private or Public.

Board permissions are propagated from the Board to the Template. This means that if the Board that the Template was created from is set as Private, the newly-created Board from that Template will be set as Private, as well. These permissions, however, can be changed by the Board Owner. Additionally to that, the settings to who can modify the Board will be propagated to the Template and subsequently the Board created from that Template, as well.

Files, subscriptions and comments will be propagated to the Template and to the Board created from it. These can, however, be subsequently modified as everything else.

Template Owner is the User who created the Template from the Board.
