Notifications Overview
Plaky notifies users of any change that happens in Board or Space they share with other Members. If certain types of changes occur in Board/Team/Item, members get Email and Bell Notifications. This way, everyone can keep up with the latest developments within a team, or a project.
There are four different types of notifications in Plaky:
- Email Notifications
- Bell Notifications
- Push notifications (Mobile)
- Desktop notifications
- System notifications
Email Notifications #
You will receive Email Notifications if:
- You’re subscribed to Board/Item/Team (user invites you to the Board/Item/Team)
- You’re unsubscribed from Board/Team (user removes you from Board/Team)
- You’re assigned to an Item (user adds you in the Person Field)
- Someone mentions you in comment or reply
- Someone updates Item you’re the Owner of/subscribed to
- Someone comments on an Item you’re subscribed to
- Someone signs up/does not sign up after you invited them
The Member who shares the Board with you, can perform the actions listed above. This is done by adding the specific Field and/or modifying the existing Fields with some of the actions listed above.
Each action performed on a Board level triggers an immediate Email Notification.
To avoid a large number of emails for changes made on the Item level, you can activate aggregated Item updates for the Items you are subscribed to in Notification settings. For multiple actions performed on one Item in a short time period, only one Email Notification is sent for each Item, with the list of changes on that Item (instead of a number of separate emails). The email shows changes made by each user involved, one after the other. It also contains the information about the Item group and the Board to which the Item belongs.
There is also an option to activate aggregated updates for bulk actions, in which case you receive one email for bulk actions. In that case, any change happened in bulk will not be a part of the aggregated mail changes for a single Item. This feature is available on paid plans only.
Bell Notifications #
You will receive Bell Notifications if:
- You’re subscribed to Board/Item/Team (user invites you to the Board/Item/Team)
- You’re unsubscribed from Board/Team (user removes you from Board/Team)
- You’ve deleted Board/Item
- Someone assigns you to an Item (user adds you in the Person Field)
- Someone mentions in comment or reply
- Someone promotes you to an admin role
- Someone changes a Field for an Item you’re subscribed to
You can see Bell Notifications in the sidebar on the left, below the Space icon. After you get notified, the bell icon will be marked with an orange dot, indicating you have received new Notifications, and a number of new Notifications will be displayed in the browser tab. Check them out by clicking the icon.
Desktop and push notifications #
Push notifications for mobile phones and Desktop notifications provide real-time event updates, delivering the information on the same events as Bell notifications. If enabled, you will receive Push and Desktop notifications about events that correspond to those found in Bell notifications.
System notifications #
In Plaky, system notifications are used to inform users about new features, updates, and important app changes. These notifications ensure that users are always aware of enhancements and improvements that can enhance their experience. By keeping users informed about the latest developments, Plaky ensures a seamless user experience and helps users make the most of new functionalities as they become available.
System notifications cannot be turned off.
