Create and Manage Subitems

In Plaky, each Board has entities called Items, which can represent various elements of your project such as tasks, locations, clients, time determinants, etc. To enhance your project management capabilities, Plaky allows creation of Subitems. Subitems enable you to break down complex tasks into more manageable, smaller parts, making project management more granular and organized.

This feature is available on all subscription plans, including Free plan. Any user who is eligible to create Items on a Board can create Subitems too.

Create Subitems #

Note: Subitems can be created, edited and deleted on Table Board view.

To create a subitem:

A Subitem will be added to that specific Item, designating that Item as the parent of the Subitem. Subitems inherit its parent’s field structure and will look and behave like the Items in many ways: field structure, activity log, comments and files tab.

The number of Subitems of each Item is displayed on the Item. To expand and collapse all the Subitems, click on the arrow next to the number of Subitems on the Item.

Change parent Item #

You can reassign a Subitem to a different parent Item if needed, allowing for flexible task management and organization. To do it:

Copy Subitem URL #

Links to subitems in Plaky can be copied and pasted in any chat application that you use to correspond and collaborate with your colleagues. This way, Plaky users can reach the specific subitem in question and be aware of any kind of development related to it.

To copy subitem URL:

Your subitem will be copied to a clipboard ready to be pasted in any chat app you’d like.

Duplicate Subitem #

Duplicating subitems allows you to quickly create new subitems based on existing ones. To do it:

The duplicated subitem will have the same parent Item.

Pin Subitem #

Pin an important subitem in a sidebar panel for quick access while maintaining a clutter-free main interface. By pinning subitems to the sidebar panel, you can quickly toggle between Space, Board pages and Home page without navigating away from the pinned subitem. To pin a subitem:

1. Click on the Subitem to open it
2. Click on three dots in the top right corner
3. Select Pin subitem

Focus Subitem #

Focus subtem option on a Board helps you quickly navigate back to a specific subitem. If you open a subitem and then scroll away from its position on the Board, choosing the focus subitem option will automatically scroll the Board back to the location of that subitem, allowing you to easily find and focus on it again. To focus subitem:

1. Click on the Subitem to open it
2. Click on three dots in the top right corner
3. Select Focus subitem

Reorder Subitem fields #

Customize your Board even more by arranging the order of fields on Subitems to suit your preferences. This change is visible to all users. To reorder subitem details:
