The main objective of Sprints is to create Increments on a regular basis. So, when one Sprint ends, the next one begins, until the team finally arrives at the desired product \u2014 the final <a href=\"https:\/\/plaky.com\/learn\/project-management\/deliverable-in-project-management\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">project deliverable<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">If the Sprint Goal becomes obsolete, it\u2019s the <a href=\"https:\/\/plaky.com\/blog\/product-owner-vs-project-manager\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Product Owner<\/a> who has the authority to cancel the Sprint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"how-long-does-the-sprint-last\" class=\"wp-block-heading translation-block\">How long does the Sprint Last?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Sprints typically last between 1 week and 1 month, depending on the timeframe agreed upon by the team.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"expert-tips-for-the-sprint\" class=\"wp-block-heading translation-block\">Expert tips for the Sprint&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Our contributor, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/sergeydmitriev\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Serg Dmitriev<\/a>, a Certified Scrum Trainer, Business Therapist, and the Founder and CEO of Unusual Concepts Agile, advises that the Sprint should be kept as short as possible:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns pro-blockquote is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"500\" src=\"https:\/\/plaky.com\/learn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Serg-Dmitriev.png\" alt=\"Serg Dmitriev\" class=\"wp-image-4983\" srcset=\"https:\/\/plaky.com\/learn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Serg-Dmitriev.png 500w, https:\/\/plaky.com\/learn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Serg-Dmitriev-300x300.png 300w, https:\/\/plaky.com\/learn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Serg-Dmitriev-150x150.png 150w, https:\/\/plaky.com\/learn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Serg-Dmitriev-12x12.png 12w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"translation-block\"><em>\u201cIn general, you want your Sprints to be shorter \u2014 3 weeks are better than 4, 2 better than 3, and 1 is better than 2. This is because the shorter the Sprint, the shorter the feedback loop. If you make something wrong and show it to your customer after 2 weeks, you will have twice as much to redo than if your Sprints are 1-week long. This is often an overlooked but valuable practice. Specifically, 2 groups of people: subject matter experts \u2014 people who can advise the team on technical implementation details or share deep domain knowledge with the team. The second group is the end users \u2014 people who will get the end results of our work. Make sure this is at or below your average velocity.
