These items include producer\/stars\/director fees to storyboard\/make-artist\/wardrobe fees to editing\/sound mixing\/subtitle fees.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Wendy also states that having to stay on top of the project is another important aspect of an accountant\u2019s job:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns pro-blockquote is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<figure projects (i.e. tasks, milestones, deliverables) to track the costs\/revenue against the project progress.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">As we can see from Wendy\u2019s example \u2014 working on projects as an accountant \u2014 apart from the financial activities, you also need to be familiar with basic <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/plaky.com\/learn\/project-management\/what-is-project-management\/\" target=\"_blank\">project management<\/a> concepts, such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Project tasks,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Project milestones, or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\"><a href=\"https:\/\/plaky.com\/learn\/project-management\/deliverable-in-project-management\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Project deliverables<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"why-is-project-accounting-important\" class=\"wp-block-heading translation-block\">Why is project accounting important?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">It\u2019s said that there are 3 pillars of project management, the so-called, Iron Triangle of Project Management, which includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"translation-block\"><a href=\"https:\/\/plaky.com\/learn\/project-management\/scope-in-project-management\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Project scope<\/a>,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Project time, and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Project cost.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Project cost or <a href=\"https:\/\/plaky.com\/blog\/project-management-budgeting-methods\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">project budget<\/a> is where project accounting fits in, with a focus on the financial management processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Managing <a href=\"https:\/\/plaky.com\/blog\/project-management-vs-program-management\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">projects or programs<\/a> can often be a <a href=\"https:\/\/plaky.com\/blog\/project-management-challenges\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">challenge for project managers<\/a> and accountants because they often <a href=\"https:\/\/plaky.com\/blog\/manage-multiple-projects\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">juggle multiple projects<\/a> coordinately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">To rise to that challenge and reach the desired goals \u2014 a successful project delivery \u2014 Wendy recommends that <a href=\"https:\/\/plaky.com\/blog\/communication-in-project-management\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">project team members should actively communicate<\/a> with each other and stay up to date with all the ongoing changes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns pro-blockquote is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div quite short (6-9 months). After 5 episodes, we&#8217;ve paid them $20K already, so there was an issue. We need to make sure the voice actor can record the remaining 5 episodes as quickly as possible.
