1. What are cookies?

Cookie is a text file containing a small amount of information, that is being downloaded to your device each time you visit a website. Next, that cookie is sent back to the originating website on each subsequent visit, or to another website recognizing that cookie.

In other words, cookies enable a website to recognize the user’s device, and they make our Service more user-friendly, efficient and secure. Additionally, cookies make it possible for our systems to recognize your browser and consequently provide you with the best possible configuration.

Coing uses cookies to collect information about the use of the Website and Services.

Each cookie distinguishes you from other users of Plaky. Besides cookies, there are some other techniques that have similar purposes as cookies, such as pixels and web beacons. Given the similarity between all of these mentioned techniques, in this Cookie Policy we use the term "cookie" to define all of them.

Cookies are highly volatile and may be subject to frequent changes, so, regardless of the fact that we make our best effort to keep this Cookie Policy updated, please have in mind that the information on the particular cookies contained herein may be changed from time to time.

2. Types of cookies

Generally, there are three ways to classify cookies – by their duration, by their provenance, and by the purpose they serve.

A. Duration

By their duration, cookies may fall under the following categories:

Session cookies – which are temporary. They expire once you close your browser, or upon the ending of your session.

Persistent cookies – which stay on your hard drive until you choose to erase them, or until your browser does do, depending on the cookie’s expiration date. The duration of persistent cookies can vary and each of them has an expiration date written into their code.

B. Provenance

First-party cookies – in accordance with their name, these cookies are put on your device directly by us.

Third-party cookies - these cookies are placed on your device, not by us, but by a third party such as an advertiser or an analytic system. Some third-party cookies (for instance, Google Analytics) collect information about your browsing activities over time and across different websites, which may result in advertisements or other messages being displayed to you based on your browsing history.

You can check which cookies are first-party and which are third-party by checking the category "provider" in the table below. In order to find out more about the processing of your Personal Data by the third parties placing their cookies on Plaky, please read their privacy policies.

C. Purpose

Plaky uses several types of cookies, of which each has a different purpose:

Necessary cookies

Necessary cookies help Plaky be usable by enabling basic functions like page navigation and access to secure areas of the Website, as well as enabling core functionality such as security, network management, and accessibility. The Website cannot function properly without these cookies.

Statistic cookies

Often known as "performance" or "analytical" cookies, statistic cookies help us understand the interaction of our users with the Website, by collecting and reporting information anonymously. This category of cookies enables us to keep track of the visits and traffic sources, which helps us measure and improve the performance of Plaky. For instance, we get to know which pages on the Website are more and the least popular, as well as to see how our users move around Plaky.

These cookies collect information anonymously and none of the information can be used to identify you. This category includes cookies from third-party analytics services as long as such cookies are for the exclusive use of the owner of the website visited. In case these cookies are blocked, we will not know when someone visits the Website.

3.1. Google Analytics

On Plaky, we have integrated Google Analytics website analysis service (with an anonymization function). Website analysis refers to the collection, recording and analysis of information regarding the behaviour of our users. In other words, Google Analytics uses cookies to remember your behaviour and provide us with reports on the visits of the Website and your activity.

The operator of the Google Analytics component is Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Pkwy, Mountain View, CA 94043-1351, USA.

If you wish to read more on how Google processes personal data via Google Analytics, click on the following link: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

As described in the table in the section "Types of cookies", Google Analytics uses cookies. All information about your use of Plaky generated by the Google Analytics cookies is normally transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. Google might disclose these personal data collected via the technical procedure to third parties.

We have activated IP anonymization, which means that Google shortens your IP address within the member states of the European Union or in other countries that are parties to the European Marketing Area Treaty. Exceptionally, the full IP address may be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. Such information is used by Google to analyze your use of the Website in order to compile a report about your Website activities and provide us with other services associated with Plaky and Services.

For additional information on how Google uses information collected via Plaky and the Service, please visit https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites?hl=en-GB&gl=uk.

Apart from the instructions in the section "How to block cookies?", you can also prevent the disclosure of the data generated by the cookies which refer to the use of the Website (incl. your IP address) to Google as well as the processing of these data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available under the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en.

This browser add-on notifies Google Analytics via JavaScript that no data or information about website visitors may be transmitted to Google Analytics.

Furthermore, a Google Analytics cookie left behind may be erased at any time via the Internet browser or other software programs.

Read an additional explanation regarding Google Analytics by clicking on this link: https://marketingplatform.google.com/about/.

More information on how Google processes data you can find under this link https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245#zippy=%2Cour-privacy-policy%2Cgoogle-analytics-cookies-and-identifiers.

3.2. Google Tag Manager

We use Google Tag Manager, which is the service allowing us to administer so-called website tags centrally via an interface. Google Tag Manager implements only tags, whereas no cookies are used and no personal data are collected.

Such data collection by third parties is governed by Google’s privacy policy: https://marketingplatform.google.com/intl/de/about/analytics/tag-manager/use-policy/.

However, Google Tag Manager does not access the data collected as described. In case certain domains/websites or cookies were deactivated, it remains in place for all tracking tags provided that they are implemented using Google Tag Manager.

4. Legal basis for using cookies

We are not permitted to use cookies without your explicit permission, provided via the cookie banner. The legal basis for using cookies is your consent, as further explained in Privacy Policy.

It is assumed that the device you are using is yours. However, if this is not the case (for instance, if you are using your employer’s device to assess Plaky), you are expected to obtain the authorization of the owner of the device that you can agree on their behalf with us storing cookies on the respective device and retrieving information from it as previously described above. In other words, by using the device you confirm that you are authorized to do so.

5. How to block cookies?

Necessary cookies are the only category that cannot be blocked, whereas you can manage the use of all the other types of cookies.

In case you wish to disable cookies, you may use your browser settings or you may refuse cookies via the cookie banner and cookie settings.

In order to disable cookies through the cookie banner, click on the "X" button on the cookie banner.

You can change your cookie preferences at any time by clicking on the ‘Cookie settings’ button and adjusting the available sliders/checkboxes to ‘On’ or ‘Off’, then clicking ‘Save and close’. You may need to refresh your page for your settings to take effect.

In case you wish to disable cookies via browser, please note that most internet browsers are set up by default to accept cookies. If you want to refuse or delete them, please refer to the help and support area on your browser for instructions on how to block or delete cookies. Some of the relevant links that may be useful to you are:

Each browser has a different procedure for configuring and managing cookies. Anyhow, please keep in mind that you may not be able to access all or some parts of Plaky or Service if you use your browser settings to block all cookies (including necessary cookies).

More information about cookies, including the details on how to delete them or refuse their installation on your device, you may find on http://www.aboutcookies.org/.

6. Changes to Cookie Policy
