This is because marketing is a field that experiences frequent changes and requires loads of creativity \u2014 however, it can still use the touch of stability and adaptability that <a href=\"https:\/\/plaky.com\/learn\/project-management\/what-is-project-management\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">project management<\/a> offers.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Consequently, it is not surprising that the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics states the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bls.gov\/ooh\/management\/advertising-promotions-and-marketing-managers.htm#tab-6\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">job outlook for marketing managers<\/a> is great and is expected to grow by 7% from 2022 to 2032.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"what-does-a-marketing-project-manager-do\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">What does a marketing project manager do?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The responsibilities of a marketing project manager are many. I also coordinate with various teams, manage risks, and ensure that all projects align with our company\u2019s strategic objectives.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Still, these are just some of the responsibilities that marketing project managers have. So, in the following section, we will delve deeper into the most important responsibilities of these professionals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"responsibility-1-oversee-the-project\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Responsibility #1: Oversee the project<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A marketing project manager needs to organize the project from its conception to its end. This is why you need to remain vigilant so that you can steer it in the right direction whenever changes occur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"responsibility-2-define-goals-and-milestones\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Responsibility #2: Define goals and milestones&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A marketing PM needs to ensure that the goal of a marketing campaign is clear. If the goal is say, to build brand awareness, they need to define specific outcomes of the campaign that will indicate its success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To measure success, select and track appropriate <a href=\"https:\/\/plaky.com\/blog\/kpi-project-management\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">key performance indicators (KPIs)<\/a>. Examples of KPIs suited to marketing project management include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Customer satisfaction questionnaire answers,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>New customer growth,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sales revenue,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Social media follower counts,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>YouTube or newsletter subscribers, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If you want to track progress toward your goal, you can use <a href=\"https:\/\/plaky.com\/learn\/project-management\/project-milestones\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">project milestones<\/a>. Scope includes all work that needs to be done in order to complete the project \u2014 both in terms of quantity and quality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Scope is defined through a document called the scope statement of work \u2014 which includes <a href=\"https:\/\/plaky.com\/learn\/project-management\/deliverable-in-project-management\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">project deliverables<\/a>, goals, limitations, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s important to note that scope is susceptible to change during the project \u2014 this is where the notorious scope creep comes in.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Scope creep is an uncontrolled expansion of the project scope. It can often lead to <a href=\"https:\/\/plaky.com\/blog\/missed-deadlines-guide\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">missed deadlines<\/a>, lack of resources, reduced quality, etc. It\u2019s a project manager\u2019s job to keep the scope in check \u2014 as goals or the project size change, appropriate adjustments must be made.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The scope will conform to the other 2 <a href=\"https:\/\/plaky.com\/learn\/project-management\/project-constraints\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">project constraints<\/a> \u2014 budget and timeline.
